Activity Center (esKape):

The purpose of this center is to provide a safe and supervised place for teens to spend time with their friends after school and weekends.  It will have a food café, arcade games, billiards, climbing wall, skateboarding, basketball, computers games, tutoring, etc. 

esKape had been meeting for the past 2.5 years at a local church but decided to take a break in Dec 07.   While the youth who came really enjoyed it, I had a hard time attracting additional youth as we were unable to advertise through the school district since we met in a church and area youth pastors were reluctant to let their youth attend an event at another church.   I would like to start this up again when I am able to find a more neutral location.  This will require lots of finances to rent and furnish the building with everything we need so it will be awhile before it is up and running again.  However, if you or anyone you know would like to donate a building or finances for this purpose, call me!

Crisis/Respite Center:

The purpose for this center is to provide a safe place for teens to go when they are in some type of crisis situation during the night when most social service agencies are closed.  Typical situations that could bring a teen to us may be:

• A confrontation with parents or friends 
• Being kicked out of the house with no where to go.
• Verbal, physical or sexual abuse
•  Suicidal feelings
• Victim of violence or rape

Once at the center counselors will talk with them about their situation and work out an action plan with immediate, short and long term goals to help bring about positive change in their life and relationships.  Mediation services will also be provided where teens and parents can meet to resolve the current family situation.
