We have 3 decisions to make concerning Jesus
1.
We accept Jesus as Savior.
Because God is perfect, He cannot tolerate sin; sin can have no place in heaven or in our relationship with God. This is one of the reasons
why God had to create hell. He needed a place for people who choose to love sin more than they love God.
If you don’t enjoy living with God now, why would you want to spend an eternity living with Him? When Jesus died on
the cross He took upon himself every sin we will ever commit in our lifetime. When we realize and accept this truth
we can have forgiveness now and live in heaven when we die.
2. We
accept Jesus as Lord. We
realize that since He created us, He knows us better than anyone else so we choose to live our lives by the guidelines
He wrote down in the Bible. The more we to choose the values of God rather than the values of the world around us, the
more of His presence, love, joy and peace fills our lives on a daily basis. We get to experience heaven on earth and
heaven when we die.
3. We accept Jesus as our Power Source. We
allow God’s power (the Holy Spirit) to take control of us. We lay hands on the sick and see them healed.
We hear the voice of God so clearly we can declare future events before they happen. We are given information about
a person that we could never have known if God had not directly told us. We speak in tongues, the heavenly language.
All Christians choose #1. While they are assured of a place in heaven when
they die, their life on earth looks just like those around them who do not know Jesus. Their lives continue to be controlled
by fears, addictions, and unresolved issues.
Some Christians choose #1 and #2. They are also assured of a place in heaven
when they die but when they go through trials and difficulties on earth, they do not despair or turn to addictive habits to
get them through. They are filled with God’s love, peace and joy regardless of what life brings their way.
People can look at their lives and tell there is something different about them.
Fewer Christians choose #1, #2 and #3.
They are assured of a place in heaven when they die. They enjoy every day of their lives as they are filled with God’s
love, peace and joy. They are able to tap into the powers of heaven where the supernatural becomes a normal part of their
everyday life.
Because of God’s great
love for us, He has given us a free will. It is up to each one of us to determine how much of God we want in our lives.
Which choice will you make?
