About the Director and Ministry:
I had a desire to start a ministry that would specifically target teens and families. I
wanted a center where teens were loved and accepted for who they are, not for what they do, wear, drive or accomplish.
I wanted a social service agency that incorporated Biblical truths in all of its services and programs. My desire
is to be able to partner with other area churches, social service agencies and schools to better meet the needs of teens and
families in this area.
My Education, Training & Experience:
Masters in Clinical Social Work from Saint Louis University
Bachelors
in Social Work from Southern Illinois University
at Edwardsville
Board Certified Christian Counselor through the International Board of Christian Counselors
Completed a two semester practicum providing counseling
services at Catholic Social Services
Licensure
for direct childwelfare worker
Member of the National Association
of Social Workers
Member of the American Association of Christian Counselors
Member of the North American
Association of Christian Social Workers
Inside Out Ministries has been a work in progress as I continue to
work
another full time job while I develop this ministry. My plan is
to build up
the counseling ministry while I am gaining my licensure
hours and then be able to
do this on a full time basis. I plan to
have my 3000 licensure hours
completed in 2010 at which time I
will take the state board exams to become a licensed
clinical
social worker.
On a personal note, I have been married for 29 years and have two adult daughters and one teenage son, along with my
pug dog. We are in the process of adopting a teenage daughter. I am originally from California and came to Illinois
via North Carolina and have been here for over 10 years. I attend Greater Glory Worship Center in
Glen Carbon.
